Freshwater Marsh,
Kings County

Miner's Marsh in Kentville is an excellent example of a freshwater marsh, characterized by its shallow waters and rich vegetation. This productive habitat provides essential nesting and foraging grounds for a wide variety of bird species, from red-winged blackbirds and swallows in the reeds to herons wading along the edges. The marsh also serves as a stopover for migratory waterfowl, including ducks and Canada geese, making it an oasis for avian life in the Annapolis Valley.
